Following a former CSX railroad corridor, the rail-trail is named for the Creek Indian leader who signed the Cusseta Treaty, surrendering the tribe's remaining land in the area.
Remarkably flat and smooth, the trail arcs from Woodland Park in Anniston northeast through small towns and quiet countryside to the state line with Georgia, where it connects to the Silver Comet rail-trail. It begins on a slightly raised rail bed before entering open fields, passing beneath canopies of pine, dogwood and other native trees and alongside enchanting wetlands.
You'll find numerous access points along the way. The first stop is Weaver, where you might want to pop into the nearby grocery store for snacks. Back on the trail, twin stone foundations of a railroad trestle flank the route.
Five miles along, in Jacksonville, you'll pass an old train depot, restored in and now providing, among other things, a resting place for trail users. You'll also find the Jacksonville State University campus. Just off the trail is the historic town square, which boasts several shops and restaurants climb Mountain Street and turn right on Route Keep alert over the following nine miles, as you may catch a deer or fox watching you. You'll soon reach central Piedmont, a quaint community that embraces the trail with a welcome center, benches and a sandwich shop just steps away.
From Piedmont the scenery begins to change. Duggar Mountain and the southern Appalachians provide a backdrop to fields that transition to forests.
Terrapin Creek skirts the trail, and soon a bridge carries you over it.
Here, the trail travels through protected wilderness within Talladega National Forest. Equestrians, please check the trail website and contact the trail manager to inquire about equestrian use on the trail.
At the state line, the Chief Ladiga Trail connects to Georgia's Silver Comet Trailwhich stretches for another 62 miles, making the trails combined among some of the longest paved pedestrian paths in the country.
A few miles past the split, turn left on Weaver Road; continue about a mile, then turn left again on Holly Farms Road to the well-marked Woodland Park trailhead. The trail is well maintained, relatively flat, and very very scenic once you get out of town.
We'd definitely come again. Had a wonderful wonderful time on this trail! Great trail for first time long distance bikers like myself.
A great ride with lots of shade and beautiful scenery. The trail only has slight inclines, so no big hills to climb and overall the trail is well kept.
It was a very nice, relaxing day on a fairly easy trail. A great ride to the Georgia State Line. Great scenery along the way and about 3 miles from the Georgia State line is a nice little campground along a creek with bathhouse, campsites with tables and a lot of friendly folks.
We started at Piedmont trailhead the first day and spent the night at the campground.
The Chief Ladiaga campground is small but well kept. The bathhouse is clean and has basic tent sites. After breakfast we woke up and road to the Georgia state line and back to Piedmont the second day. The trail does go through a few small towns with bike friendly restaurants. The trail has clean rest stops to refill water bottles and take a nap if needed.Fugenkreuze terrassenplatten 3mm mit teller
The only negative is the asphalt trail is somewhat rough in places. Tree roots have made unexpected ripples in the pavement and give you a surprise bump in the road on several segments of the trial. The closer to the state line you get the rougher it gets. Some bike trail angels have painted white lines onto of the roots to prevent accidents and it helps.
Other than a root little surprise every now and then it is still a well kept scenic route with bridges, farms and views to remember for a good days ride. Have fun.Connecting small communities and suburban neighborhoods, the mile West Orange Trail is one of Florida's most popular rail-trails, thanks to its reputation and proximity to metro Orlando.
Fifteen minutes northwest of downtown, the route serves as a window on the region's past and present, passing through s communities that grew up around the once-thriving Orange Belt Railway, as well as more developed areas in this rapidly expanding metropolitan area. Killarney Station, a modern take on an old-time train depot, anchors the southern trailhead.
Here you'll find bike rentals, restrooms and water. From here the route leads northeast through the quiet, wooded community of Oakland before hitting downtown Winter Garden.
For about 1 mile the trail threads down the middle of two-lane Plant Street, allowing trail users to browse the shops and restaurants of this lively community. For the next 10 miles the trail pops in and out of thinly wooded areas, occasionally passing orange groves that speak to the county's agricultural roots. This stretch is open to equestrian use. Beyond lies Apopka, one of central Florida's fastest growing communities.

You'll soon cross busy US along Forest Avenue. Killarney Station is 0. Parking is available. Within 1 mile, turn right on US and drive north Turn right on Route and look for the trailhead 2. While there is no parking at this trailhead, you can park along the route. Cute little towns line the trail as it weaves in and out of locations. Not intended for someone trying to get in long continious miles.
Several street crossings. I truly enjoyed myself. We parked and entered the Trail at the Killarney Station.
West Orange Trail
We rode through Oakland, through Winter Garden, and a few miles further, we turned and headed back to Winter Garden, for lunch. Along our route we not only saw older historic buildings, but beautiful homes, natural wildlife habitats, as well as the very nice Butterfly Garden.
We saw a chicken crossing, where the local rooster was doing just that, checking on all the chicks in the area, crossing from one side of the road to the other.
The Oakland Park was picturesque. Round trip we did We will be back We started the trail at the Apopka end. There was no parking so we had to park at the nearby Publix which has good restrooms.
The ride was mostly shaded with a cool overpass bridge but there were some questionable areas and apparently homeless individuals on the trail. The other end of the trail near the Killearny Station was much nicer. This ride never gets old for me. On the west side of the ride are the towns of Oakland and Winter Garden which have made the Trail a feature of their downtown areas.
On the north are the moderate challenges of slow slopes heading into Apopka.Hey community, I'm struggling with the logic of the task To complete this challenge, add a validation rule which will block the insertion of a contact if the contact is related to an account and has a mailing postal code which has the API Name MailingPostalCode different from the account's shipping postal code which has the API Name ShippingPostalCode.
A contact with a MailingPostalCode that has an account and does not match the associated Account ShippingPostalCode should return with a validation error and not be inserted. The validation rule should ONLY apply to contact records with an associated account. Contact records with no associated parent account can be added with any MailingPostalCode value. The part I am stuck on is if the "Contact records with no associated parent account can be added with any MaiilingPostalCode value" I don't know what to do with that.
Also, I am now getting the error message when I recheck challenge: Challenge not yet complete DmlException: Insert failed. Challenge Not yet complete The validation rule should only apply to contact records with an associated account. Not sure why I am getting this error because I am able to create a new contact without any association to a Account. I do get a validation error when I create a new contact associated to a account but with a different MailingPostalCode.
Getting expected behaviour for the validation rule but the trailhead challenge is failing. My Validation Rule: Any help is appreciated! SO, if you want to pass the challenge, just use that validation formula. However, if you are trying to actually implement this function in a production SFDC org, it does not work correctly for users.
Our architect advised this is a trailhead error as Loan Amount has nothing to do with the challenge. Hope this helps someone who spent an hour trying to figure it out like I did :.
